| Program | Mode | Req. Utilities | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| CONVERT 2.5 Batch version | GEOS 64 or GEOS | WRAPTOR v3 | This is a MUST HAVE application for every GEOS user. GEOS files are unique, and cannot currently be sent over a phone line without being converted to Commodore format. Therefore, an application is needed to convert GEOS files to and from Commodore format. This is the fastest and easiest program for doing that. |
| DesTerm 128 v3.02 | 128 - 80 column | UNDAR128.EXE (located with pro | DesTerm 128 is a shareware program by Matthew Desterm. It has been recently upgraded by Matthew to work with CMD devices, including the new SuperCPU 128! With ZMODEM downloading and more, this is most likely the best terminal program written exclusively for the Commodore 128. There are 6 files that are needed to be downloaded: 5 archived files and the unarchiver known as UNDAR128.EXE. |
| DIRTREE | 64 only | WRAPTOR v3 | Tree is one of three files written by our own Robert Schwuchow. Read the Dirtree.txt file for more details, but here is a brief rundown. CMD's Native mode DOS gives us the ability to use subdirectories just like MS-DOS machines. The only trouble is, there has never been an easy way to list a directory tree! Hence, I wrote a BASIC program which did that, but it was painfully slow for large partitions with tons of files. Robert Schwuchow then wrote these three programs to quickly give you a directory tree of a Native mode formatted disk or partition! There are documentation files formatted for either 40 or 80 columns. |
| GEODOS V2.95 (English) | GEOS 64 or GEOS | UNZIP6420 or GUNZIP and CONVE | GEODOS is one of the most powerful GEOS utilities to come along in a long time. It's major claim to fame is it's ability to read and write to MS-DOS formatted 3.5 inch disks while working in GEOS/Wheels/MP3. In fact, it is a virtual Swiss Army knife. It can format PC disks including 720K, 1.44Mb, and even 2.88Mb if you have an FD-4000! It can change the RASH flags on PC disk, too! It is the easiest way to transfer files from a PC floppy disk to your Commodore! Even things like changing a file's type is as easy as a mouse click! There are too many features to list! GEODOS will run under GEOS 64 or GEOS 128 (40 column mode) and their various upgrades (eg. Wheels, MP3). GEODOS is SuperCPU compatible. It is compatible with all Commodore and CMD devices. Native mode partitions and subdirectories are supported. GEODOS was written by Markus Kanet in Germany. He has released this program as freeware and gave his permission to distribute it. He has since moved on to using Linux, and is no longer continuing development. Some of the documentation is in English. But the help files are all in German. The program itself is 95% English, but is rather intuitive and easy to learn. NOTE: (1). Always run GEODOS from a ROOT directory. If you try to run it from a subdirectory, It will not find its support modules and will not load! (2.) When copying files from a Commodore drive to a PC disk, the source file(s) MUST be in a ROOT directory even though it lets you choose a subdir. Otherwise you will get an error message. |
| GEOLASER (GC) 2000 | GEOS 64 or GEOS | WRAPTOR v3 | Here is the Y2K compatible patched version of GEOLASER for use with a PostScript printer and a GEOCABLE printer interface. |
| GEOS PS LASER PROGRA | GEOS 64 or GEOS | WRAPTOR v3 | This file contains the geoCable and RS-232 versions of GEOLASER & GEOPUBLASER which have been patched for Y2K either by me or using Werner Weicht's Y2K Patch program. Werner's Y2K patch program which patches Y2K sensitive GEOS applications (eg. geoWrite & geoPublish) is available for download from his web site. It is a shareware program that runs under any version of GEOS or WHEELS in 40 column mode. I have tested the geoCable versions, but not the RS-232 versions. |
| Little Red Reader 12 | 128 only | none - self-extracting | This is a Commodore 128 only program that allows you to read and write to and from PC formatted disks. This program will work with all PC floppy disks formats and will work with all Commodore drives capable of reading MFM formatted disks (1541's or 1541 clones will not work). The following drives will work: 1571, 1581, CMD FD-2000 or 4000. This program works will all CMD devices including the SuperCPU 128. This file is a Self Extracting Archive (.SFX) file. Simply load and run to de-archive the file. This program is written by Craig Bruce. Thank you Craig for this fine program! |
| OCARINA - GEOS Font | GEOS 64 or GEOS | GUNZIP and CONVERT 2.5 | OCARINA is a GEOS Font I created to help my daughter transcribe sheet music into notation for use with the typical 5 hole ocarina. A geoWRITE documentation file is included with the font file to show what the notation looks like, and to explain which keys to press for the desired notation. Ocarinas can be ordered online from Songbird Ocarinas |
| SuperCPU - SUPERBASE | 128 - 80 column | none, self-extracting | This is an SFX (Self Extracting Archive) containing two files. A text file with info, and the actual loader program. By running this loader program, Superbase 128 v3.0x will work with the CMD SuperCPU, even in 20 MHz turbo mode! This loader program was written by Rick Kane, also known for his great I-Paint and I-Port programs! |
| STEREOPLAYER 10.32 | 64 only | WRAPTOR v3 | This is the last version of the famous Stereo SID Player for the C-64. The only real difference between this version and v10.3 is that it can play SID's from any device number as selected from the configuration menu. |
| UNZIP6420 | 64 only | none, self-extracting | This C-64 program will UnZIP files created by PKZIP 2.04g. For those who are familiar with PKZIP, this is the reigning method of compression used by the PC industry. Version 2.04g is the latest version of PKZIP. Up until this program was released, Commodore users had no way to uncompress files created by this version of PKZIP. Just download and run this program. It will decompress itself using a custom routine. The program is SuperCPU compatible and fast! Unfortunately, we do not yet have a Commodore program to create PKZIP 2.04g files. Make sure you read the instructions before attempting to use. There is vital info in there to help you know how to use the program. |
